Up, Up And Away!Posted: February 23, 2012
This past weekend you rode in an airplane for the first time. Daddy had business in San Francisco and we decided that you and I should go along for the ride. I have to admit I was very nervous about taking you on the plane. I wasn’t sure what to expect and was prepared for anything. Luckily the flight was just about one hour so we had plenty to keep you occupied. It was all new and exciting for you and we kept you entertained the whole flight. You were fabulous! When Daddy was off working, we got to go to The California Academy of Sciences with Aunty Young and Kaitlyn. You two warmed up to each other eventually. At first it was just stares back and forth and then you both had a blast playing in the toddler room and you even held hands in the ecosystem. It was such a fun place! We got to see an albino alligator, parrots, butterflies, and so many fish. Wish we could have stayed longer but we left so you two little ones could nap before we met up again for dinner. The next day we went shopping and then headed over to the Yerba Buena Gardens to see the beautiful flowers, waterfalls and of course spend a couple hours at the kids playground. It was designed for older kids, but that didn’t stop you from going down the slide or running around all over the place. It was fun keeping up with you. We had to leave to stop and say hi to Kristin, Pat, Cali and the boys who were shopping nearby. It was brief and on our way back to the hotel, you fell asleep in the stroller. Luckily for us, Daddy got off in time for dinner and we tried a Southeast Asian restaurant that was delicious. You were very good so we headed back to get the car and drive over to Kristin’s apartment to visit with everyone there. Our third and final day was spent with Daddy exploring SF. We went to the Ferry Building and walked around the farmer’s market and had delicious burgers at Gott’s.
Then we went back to the hotel to pack and checkout but since our flight was not for a couple hours, we drove over to Ghirardelli Square and walked around and let you loose.
You ran around the park and even almost ran to the beach. It was way too cold though so we turned around and went shopping and sightseeing.
After all that, it was time to head to the airport and get ready for our flight home. We played in various parts of the airport before our flight to tire you out. It worked! You slept the whole plane ride and were a complete angel. I couldn’t have asked for a better mini vacation.
