Healdsburg, Here We Come

Dear Chace,
We headed to Healdsburg, CA for a fun, relaxing family vacation and to attend a family friend’s wedding. I had no idea how perfect the setting and 5 days would really be. You did great on the long road trip. Unfortunately, since I am 36 weeks pregnant and somewhat high risk, I was not able to fly like the rest of the family. We headed north in the car with Poppy and you did great! I was not sure what to expect and couldn’t have asked for a better ride. You slept well. We sang songs and pointed out all the animals on the way. When we arrived, this is what we were greeted with! Our home away from home.

This is where we stayed all 10 of us. It was breathtakingly beautiful inside and out. Thankfully it was also perfect for kids. 2 toddlers and a baby had plenty of secure space and places to play. Honestly I didn’t want to leave. We explored the 10 acres of vineyards, olive and lemon trees and picked fallen acorns and pine cones. You and Kaelyn played on the playspace and even got to go in the spa with Daddy and Uncle Dan. We couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather and scenery.

While it was so much fun hanging out at the property, we had a wedding to attend too! You were asleep for the wedding so Daddy missed it and then the reception was your time to play with all the other little kids. Unfortunately for Daddy, I couldn’t run after you and keep up in heels and being 36 weeks pregnant so Daddy was gracious enough to hang out with you guys outside. Of course as soon as the dancing started, you were inside ready to get down with everyone else. It was way past your bedtime and all the events of the day tired you out. Luckily for me, it was so easy to get you to sleep. This is probably one of our last photos before we become a family of 4! Can’t wait to meet your little sister in just a few short weeks.

Thanks for being a great kid! It made traveling easy and the vacation fun and relaxing. I know there will be plenty more in the future and I can’t wait to share all the memories of those trips with you as well.
I love you.
