I Love Running

Dear Chace and Harper,

Before you were both born, I ran consistently 5 days a week. It was part of my day, part of my life. It made me feel strong and fit and gave me the time I needed each day to clear my head. After a run, I feel so accomplished and to this day that feeling has not gone away. The big difference is that my time is much more limited. I can’t just lace up my running shoes and pop in my head phones and go for a run. I have to really time everything perfectly. I have two choices these days….to take you both with me or to leave you at home with Momo. I am so lucky that Momo is available and willing to watch both of you while I go out for a run. It is not something I take for granted. If I take you both with me, I have to plan accordingly. You both need to be well fed and well rested to be able to sit in the jogging stroller for a long period of time. These days I run anywhere from 3-5 days a week and that is just fine with me. I am happy to hit the pavement and clear my head.


I love to run. I do it so that I can be stronger and stay healthy because I have the two of you to keep up with for many years to come. I hope that you both see how important being healthy is. Your dad and I take it very seriously and want what is best for both of you and part of that is to have healthy, happy parents. Running is just one aspect of that for me. I hope one day that you both are passionate about fitness and health. It is one of the greatest gifts I could ever give you, to be healthy and active.
